“My mower is overheating” Follow

It’s alarming when you see white smoke coming from an engine that seemed only last week to be operating well. There can be a number of reasons for this, and very few are down to bad construction.

A major factor in overheating on electric mowers is grass cuttings and dust clogging up the air vents, this means the engine has to work harder and can cause it to overheat. Unplug the machine, remove whatever casing you are able to and clean the vents, with a jet of high pressure air if you can.

With petrol machines, clogged or dirty filters can cause the same problem, so check them and clean or replace where necessary.
